Here we are, folks! Part The Second of our 100th Podcast Extravaganza!  Earlier this week, we gave you an extended interview with Amazing Spider-Man writer (and our favorite Marvel writer going) Dan Slott, and now, we bring you an equally extended talk with Scott Snyder, our favorite writer at DC, who currently writes Swamp Thing, American Vampire and, of course, Batman - the best of the Bat-books.

Lots of Bat-talk ensues! Snyder gives us a lot of cool behind-the-scenes stories about DC's New 52 in general and his books in specific - such as what went into the genesis of The Court of Owls and the current "Night of the Owls" crossover, as well as how he blended the past with the present on Swamp Thing and worked with Jeff Lemire to develop The Rot.  He also tells us why in the world the Riddler had a green question-mark mohawk, why Alfred's father's name is Jarvis, and the struggles about whether or not to revamp the status of Joe Chill.  And guess what? He's also buddies with Dan Slott! It's all good times, and forgive any Skype glitches here and there - it's sadly inevitable.

Here we are, folks! The dream we all dream of! 100 episodes of The Book Report, Crave Online's comic book podcast, bringing you a super-sized special edition so big we had to spread it out over two shows!  In this episode, your mainstay for all 100 episodes Iann Robinson and your Comics Editor for the last 53 editions Andy Hunsaker bring you an extended interview with our favorite Marvel writer going right now, Dan Slott of Amazing Spider-Man! And, of course, we give our thoughts on that little Avengers movie you might've heard about.

Slott regales us with tales of his youth, his inspiration, behind-the-scenes malarkey in the comic industry, and assures us that he will never, ever get burnt out on writing the adventures of his all-time favorite hero Spider-Man, and that's something we should all be thankful for, because he's the best guy for the job. Seriously, if you're still holding out because of "One More Day," you'll want to listen - Slott respects your opinion but gives you plenty of food for thought, and assures us there's absolutely no reason Peter Parker can't date Mary Jane Watson again.

It's finally here - the end of this week sees the release of The Avengers movie, and your host Andy Hunsaker has seen the film, and offers some pretty much spoiler-free opinions on it. Hey, it's good stuff.  So welcome to The Book Report Podcast #99, also featuring Iann Robinson and thoughts about The Dark Knight Rises and The Amazing Spider-Man.

If that's not enough for you (and it shouldn't be, since this is the comic book podcast, not The B-Movies Podcast), we also run down the comics of the last week, including Avengers vs. X-Men VS., Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Aquaman, Uncanny X-Men, Secret Avengers, Wolverine, FF, Justice League Dark, I Vampire, The Mighty Thor, The New Deadwardians, The Goon and our dueling opinions about Battle Scars and the new Nick Fury.

Hey howdy, ladies and germs! Back again are the incredible rhyme animals, your standard Book Report Podcast hosts Andy Hunsaker and Iann Robinson, returning after a misguided foray into This Is REALLY Happening land last week. It seems we were DOOMED from the start.

However, now that we're back in our familiar funnybook territory, we've got a whole lot of ground to cover.  There's excitement for the Avengers movie, concern for The Dark Knight Rises, a rumor rundown of Marvel's new Gambit and Hawkeye series, Northstar's long-anticipated gay marriage, Spider-Men, DC's National Comics and He-Man revivals, The Walking Dead spoilers and some odd DC Direct news. Not to mention a huge stack of comics for the Yays and Nays of the week, even after a revisiting of last week's Avengers vs. X-Men kick-off. This week, we talk New Avengers, The Mighty Thor, Batman and Robin, Green Lantern, Batgirl, Alabaster: Wolves, Avenging Spider-Man, Scarlet Spider, Saucer Country, The Secret Service, Winter Soldier, Batwoman, Peter Panzerfaust, Lobster Johnson, '68 Scars, Orchid, Resurrection Man, Frankenstein: Agent of SHADE, Jonathan Hickman's Secret and more.

It's April Fool's Week, ladies and germs, and that means The Book Report #96 is part of the site-wide podcast change-up. The Comedy Channel blokes from the This Is REALLY Happening podcast take over The Book Report to bust out their vast comic knowledge and experience on all y'all.

Sax Carr and Tim Powers give us their perspective on funnybooks you should take a look at, such as The Lone Ranger, Archie Comics' reinvention of Li'l Jinx as a young adult graphic novel Jinx, Image Comics' Moriarty, Hypno Comics' Comic Book Junkies, Skullkickers #13, Venom, Secret Avengers, Thunderbolts, and, of course, the huge event of the week that is Avengers vs. X-Men. However, since that's such a big deal, your usual co-host Iann Robinson pops in to talk about  AvX as well, to preserve his streak of being on every Book Report podcast since the beginning. We're almost at 100 here, and that's a nice round number - too irresistible, even for a fun holiday stunt.

In the meantime, you can check Iann and I trying our hands at This Is Really Happening #58 this week as well, wherein we try to be funny and tend to err on the side of ranty instead, much to the chagrin of Powers/Carr. We discuss "the bacon coffin." Which is a thing that exists.

Subscribe to us on iTunes and follow us on Twitter (@CraveBookReport) whenever you can.  Also, be sure to check out Crave Online's other podcasts because we've all got the round robin switcheroo going on. - there's the "The Idiot Box" for TV, "The B-Movies" for film, "Next Gen News" for video games and "This is REALLY Happening" for comedy.  And by the by, the opening music for our podcast is "Evil March" by Kevin MacLeod.
